The image of the hand is common in Tarogramma. It can be seen on clothing, flags, jewellery, painted on buildings and in ornaments. It’s significance is hard to determine but some believe it to symbolise a certain elite social class. This artefact may have been displayed in the home to show others the social standing of the owner.
