The Atlas Expedition

This drawing was discovered as part of a collection of items buried in the dunes of North Africa. It was probably created by a member of the Atlas expedition, an attempt to confirm rumours that Tarogramma could be accessed through a remote region between Algeria and Morocco. The image seems to depict the moment of discovery but, as no members of the expedition returned it cannot be confirmed. Later expeditions to the region have discovered nothing.
