Oil on calico (Wall hanging)

The woman pictured is clearly a devotee of the ‘Church of the Void’. This can be seen in the dual-circle logo on her clothing and the flag she carries. The hand with a missing finger pendant shows she is a member of a particularly devoted sect of the church. They are obliged to carry everything they own on their person at all times. This is a means of highlighting the absurdity of possessing objects in a transient world. They are often seen using large swathes of fabric to help carry the load.

Portrait by an unknown artist who was on board the Sub Rosa. He produced many such portraits, discovered only after his death.
