Friendship groups in Tarogramma are incredibly tight knit and intense. The accepted reasoning is that, if Tarogramma is a place that is discovered accidentally, citizens might enter Tarogramma at any age and alone. Tribal groups and friendships serve as proxy families. 

The image on the t-shirt and wooden sculpture represent 'The Unknown Other', an animal that was once sighted and has been redrawn many times until it may no longer represent the original sighting. It has become the symbol for anything that exists beyond the known world.
