Portrait of a 'Game' Player
TARO002
Oil on calico (Wall Hanging)
Portrait by an unknown artist who was on board the Sub Rosa. He produced many such portraits, discovered only after his death. These works give us the greatest idea of what the inhabitants of Tarogramma are like. Judging from his clothing, the man in this portrait is believed to be a player of ‘The Game’. Many records of this wildly popular sport exist but none make clear what the rules are, if indeed there are any.
